Another thing more concrete : you seem to use an old (and knew as a buggy version) of MLT. Could you update it following this FAQ : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1861 If you want the last version of MLT, you should use this PPA : https://launchpad.net/~sunab/+archive/kdenlive-svn but be careful, it is a daily PPA so he can break your installation.
