This is a great idea, and I would like to learn more about AppImageKit. However, we are currently making some huge changes to OpenShot, changing libraries, refactoring, new interface, etc... I would rather wait until we start stabilizing this source code to work on building an AppImage. How does that sound as a plan?
Probono, thanks for the offer to help! I would love some guidance once we begin this process. Thanks again! -Jonathan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenShot Bugs, which is subscribed to OpenShot Video Editor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1170972 Title: Please provide an AppImage Status in OpenShot Video Editor: New Bug description: "Using AppImageKit you can package applications as AppImages that run on common Linux-based operating systems, such as Ubuntu, Fedora, debian and derivatives." Distributing an AppImage would cater to many Linux distributions, since they include the additional libraries needed to run the actual program. Thus, running Openshot would be easier to run for users and might result in less support requests.
