Hi, Strange situation. I've got two 12.04 and none issues with on a quad core and a dual core. You have all well installed. But there are one difference between you and me : FFmpeg. You are using the fork of this one : avconv. This could be explain your issue but that's not sure. Use this PPA (https://launchpad.net/~jon-severinsson/+archive/ffmpeg) and update your version of ffmpeg following this FAQ : https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1040
The other thing that who comes to my mind is the format of your video. But if you have this problem with mpeg2 and dvix, that's a false road. Your hardware is a bit light for H264, to my mind. You could try EnKodeur-Mixeur before to convert your file in DnXHD (done by a french too and a friend of mine) and retry in Openshot. I've seen Laurent Bellegarde on the booth Lprod at Strasbourg make this process successfully with a expensive and modern camcorder where sofware on windows were unable to use. Sinon en francais pas de problemes pour moi. :-) 2013/6/15 LeLapin <[email protected]> > Public bug reported: > > AMD Athlon dual core 64 bits > Ubuntu Studio 12.04 : Linux version 3.2.0-48-lowlatency (buildd@komainu) > (gcc version 4.6.3 (Ubuntu/Linaro 4.6.3-1ubuntu5) ) #50-Ubuntu SMP PREEMPT > Sat Jun 8 16:00:47 UTC 2013 (fresh complete reinstall from last version > Ubuntu Studio 12.04) > > Openshot 1.4.3 installed from PPA > (same bug with preinstalled openshot 1.4.0, and preinstalled MLT) > > ffmpeg 4:0.8.6-0ubuntu0.12.04.1 (transitional) > gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg 0.10.13-1 > Both from Ubuntu STudio install DVD > > melt 0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1 > libmlt++3 0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1 > python-mlt5 0.8.8-0ubuntu0~sunab~precise1 > -------------------------- > I've tried tu use OpenShot for abour one year.
