LIke you are on Ubuntu I suspect still a issue with the fork of ffmpeg present on this distribution Libav which dont have the support for proprietairy codecs like mp4, acc, mp3, 3gp,... You have a faq which can help you for resolve this issue. https://answers.launchpad.net/openshot/+faq/1040
