I've updated to the latest GIT code of MLT now. I also compiled mlt without the option "--avformat-vdpau".
That seems to work better. It only crashed one time while I cut a video 50 times and moved the parts around. So either the GIT code fixed it in the next official release or there's something wrong with my video card and vdpau.
