I´m on karmic and was getting the: **************************************** Error: OpenShot has not been installed in the Python path. (Both the site-packages and /usr/share/openshot folders were checked)
Use the following command to install OpenShot: $ sudo python setup.py install **************************************** ... error as well. I tried Pablo´s link solution and Openshot then opened. However, as soon as I played my first clip the preview went green, there was a bit of scratchy noise, then a crash. I ran it from a terminal window and the last two lines prior to the crash were: **************************************** on_tlbPlay_clicked called with self.tlbPlay Segmentation fault **************************************** I then followed the ´Jociel C. Andrade wrote on 2010-01-17´ fix (though I had installed it this way in the first place, as per your website) and ended up with the same results. I´ve been mucking about looking for a non-linear editor for the last week or so and have also been trying kdenlive (along with just about all the rest out there), which mimics this behaviour very closely (scratchy sound, green screen during playback then crash). That seems to have something to do with the pulseaudio and alsa sound drivers, but don´t quote me there. I have no idea what I´m really talking about, very much a newbie. It´s just a bit strange that two NLEs display the same errors on karmic. Good luck, I´ll be waiting for one of these apps to work on karmic. It seems that the karmic release has been the biggest problem. Cheers, Andy. -- OpenShot has not been installed in the Python path https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/439205 You received this bug notification because you are a member of OpenShot Developers, which is subscribed to OpenShot Video Editor. Status in OpenShot Video Editor: Fix Released Bug description: I'm using Ubuntu 9.04. After installing 0.9.42 from PPA, when I run openshot that is what I get: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Added /usr/share/openshot to system path -------------------------------- OpenShot (version 0.9.42) -------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------- Error: OpenShot has not been installed in the Python path. (Both the site-packages and /usr/share/openshot folders were checked) Use the following command to install OpenShot: $ sudo python setup.py install ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I couldn't find 'setup.py' on the openshot package. I have other PPA respositories in use so maybe there is an issue with them. I can't really be sure about this. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~openshot.developers Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~openshot.developers More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
