I can confirm this bug.  Openshot adds a black.png as the background
layer, and sets the length of that clip to the length of the entire
video.  However, it seems that a image clip can only be "so" long in
MLT, and then it stop rendering it.  The solution is for OpenShot to add
multiple clips to the black background, to work-around this limitation.

Bug description:
Everything works normally before the 8 minutes, but between 8 minutes and 8.30 
minutes there is happening something (not visably...) and from that point I'm 
unable to fade in and out the pictures I want to use in my film...
I tryed back to configure my movie from scratch but the problem remains...
