Well, I would recommend you attach a .debug file to this bug report, so we can better see what libraries you have installed.

If that doesn't fix it, I would recommend uninstalling python- mlt, libmlt*, openshot, and then be sure no packages with those names are installed, and then install them again from our PPA. Of course, you need to install MLT from a different PPA, as it is not in our PPA.
