Sorry I have done a bad manoeuvring on my laptop, OS need to have 2.6 and greater. Each time that a version of Kendlive is out (and when she is not in the ubuntu repository) there is an incompatibilité with some others softwares like OS but not only him. You should use the official version of Kdenlive (i.e. Ubuntu repository). You are not oblige to reinstall ubuntu for that if you have ibnstalled a software by a PPA. There is a tool who give you a back of your system before to install the software who give you some problems. Install ppa-purge and redone the same operation that you have install the ppa. ex sudo ppa-purge adressoftheppatahtyouwanttoremovethesoftware. this operation will remove the software installed and all his dependencies.
