Hi! After today's update of libx264 - openshot is not crashing anymore (on this testcase). Thank you for the fix! I guess this bug may be closed.

Click "Record" red button 4. Set parameters: Profile: All formats, Target: AVI (h.264), Video Profile: VGA NTSC 5.
