Yes, or if you want a console (fancy or not) it can be a completely
separate process that uses rpc to communicate to the server (daemon).
Like ndc does for isc dns, or xm for xen.  I;ve been playing with flex
lately. Would make for a nice console interface if you wanted something
graphical.
