I am happy you reply to this poste. This search capacity is embeded partly in opensim core modules and exist since 2008 . Its documented here http://opensimulator.org/wiki/OpenSimSearch and here http://metaverseink.com/blog/?p=21 . Metaverse sesrch site is broken for a while now. When I saw it stop functionning from the diva search site http://metaverseink.com I followed the instruction in svn depot and activated it for my grid 3d.gimisa.ca:9000 . It work fine connected to an inworld object.
The beauty of the registration process propose so greatly illustrated in former http://metaverseink.com/ is that a site with enought resource would be able to be the central search hub of willing region owner accross ANY opensim grid. That existing broken site is too good an idea to let it fall I believe. My 2 cents, tks for reading' GiMiSa
