Cinder.... I wasn't offering a solution, I was offering a suggestion, Haravikk.. The suggestion was to add a default OnErr state to the script engine so that it would provide the desired functionality to all programs, not just those that used ossl calls. This would mean that no additional code would be needed in any program to get the default "spam to me/user/everyone" behavior. I understand the event handling is more 'elegant". i just cant think of a way to provide a default event handler that won't conflict with the existing codebase. I can predict that the number is scripts with existing "OnErr" states is insignificant, AND for those that have it, the existing code would still be executed.
anyway.. Ubit has convinced me that I have wasted some hours of thought, and minutes of typing, trying to be helpful. so i'm going to waste a bit more. Apologies to the OP. As I read his post what I hear is... *All your NON LSL functions are silly and not important...* *"The problem is WHY are you using them !!!See OSSL got a lot a functions in time and for very different reasons. Many are there because they are just funny/useful on very specific regions or cases. "* * I will label them with a SEVERE threat label to try and prevent their use if possible* *"Once the allow control was introduced, that got worse, because as dev incan just not care, i just flag a specious feature as SEVERE,ESTATE_OWNER only. And just let you change it and shoot your own feet,or worse someone else feet... "* *We NEED a RoadMap to determine the core features* *"So issue is to identify a set that should be universally supported, andeveryone make the effort to support it." * Sorry to intrude on your "thing" ubit... but it is called OPENsimulator for a reason, Go back and read some of the "It's a Framework for EVERYONE" marketing goo... Please. Then go tell everyone who uses NPC's to stop., If you have a design for this universally supported platform.. Please Please Please make it public.
