I have been changing all kinds of thing on my standalone sim recently. This is a problem for would be users both log in and hypergrid users since there is no indication if the sim is actually down or if there is some other disconnect along the way.
The traditional solution is to have an "offline" web page and services such as DynDNS provide this. The problem is that most OpenSim regions use ports like 8002 and 9000, while the "offline" pages only respond to port 80! Has anyone found a solution to this? Karen
