Double check that you have the External IP defined in your
/bin/Regions/Regions.ini
Also make sure you have opened the ports on the Ubuntu firewall.

Subject: [Opensim-users] Help with getting opensim working on ubuntu

Hi,

Apologies for spamming the list on my first post ....

I've been trying to get opensim working (with MySQL) on Ubuntu for a while
unsuccessfully. Basically, I am able to get opensim started and get the Region
(...) # prompt, but when I try to access the grid via Hippo from my desktop, I
am unable to log in (Error: Unable to connect to the grid. Despite our best
efforts ...etc).

I got opensim to work on a standalone machine, but we need it to work on a
server so others can access and use it. The port is open and I've got Ubuntu
10.04 / mono 2.6.7 - so I don't think that's it. I've tried testing it on an
Ubuntu server without firewall and it is the same result.

I am hoping there's someone who's experienced the same problem and they can
share the solutions. I will be very grateful.

Best regards,

Remy
