Hi there,
have you started mySQL? On OSX you'll need to start it first every time
your computer starts up. You can do that through system preferences, if
you installed the mySQL preference pane, or via terminal:
shell> cd /usr/local/mysql
shell> sudo ./bin/mysqld_safe
(Enter your password, if necessary)
(Press Control-Z)
shell> bg
(Press Control-D or enter "exit" to exit the shell)
Well, i'm new to opensim and have wandered a bit by the grid using
imprudence
viewer and liked it, so i want to set my own grid for experimenting in my
own machine. I downloaded diva distro, because somewhere in the net i
read
it was better suited to mac os x users, no i installed it. I have setup
the
mysql server and creted the accounts and granted privileges, but still
opensim refuses to connect to the mysql database. I have checked and can
connect via socket and via tcp, so opensim shouldn't have any problem,
still, it don't work. I'm really frustrated as i have triple checked all
of
the .ini files, even uninstalled mysql and installed a prior
version(first
tried with 5.5, now i have 5.1) and still the same. Is anyone on this
forums
using this distro and can help me?.
