Listeners are limited by configurable settings in [LL-Functions]. These are now documented at [1], though the best thing is to look in OpenSimDefaults.ini and override as appropriate in OpenSim.ini.

I would suggest simply adding a couple of zeroes to these numbers if you are the only person using the region or you can trust all users not to abuse listeners.

Related to this topic, I am wondering if there is a throttle in place that
stops the creation of listeners if they are
created dynamically at a certain rate. Side note, I do clean up and remove
listeners when am done with them. Just that
in my case, a lot *need* to remain open for things to work.

    Hello,
I just ported an SL application in opensim and I found that only half of it
works. Basically, the app rezzes
objects that listen to each other. In SL I could rezz objects (as many as I
needed ... did not hit a limit there)
and have the set up work fine. Each object needed to listen to each other
for things to work. However when I try the
same application in opensim, only say 20 or objects are able to listen ...
wondering if there is a parameter in some
config file that is limiting the number of listeners at any point in time
:(, I hope I can find a fix. I was pretty
pleased when things was tested with about 20 objects or else.... as I
scaled up things don't work anymore ... except
for the 20 or so objects.
