I had to add my two cents worth, if only to show you once again, you're
not alone. I have the same issue. Grey map tiles, but not on old hippo
or any v1 viewers.

I was wondering if anyone has noticed if when running OpenSim in
standalone mode and connecting via more recent v1.23 based viewers that
there are grey map tiles when opening the world map (not mini map)? From
my observations it would seem that viewers running with KDU as the image
decoder the maps appear to show up fine, but the newer ones that have
forced OpenJPEG use will show blank grey map tiles (such as Phoenix);
although Firestorm seems to give me trouble too in rendering the map
tiles and it is running on KDU, so I am probably just way off =) I just
know map tiles are working correctly for v1.23 viewers released before
LL started banning unlicensed use of KDU in all TPV viewers. It doesn't
appear to work either in grid mode (tested by logging into OSGrid)
Has anyone figured out how to get map tiles to show up correctly in this
case for these later viewers?

Opensim User: Standalone Grid on Version 0.7.3.1 with 56 Regions
on Windows 7, 64-bit. Phenom 9500 2.2 ghz Quad Core, Terabyte Hard
Drive, 8gig DDR2 RAM. Used XAMPP to load PHP Version 5.3.0, Apache
and MySQL 5.1.41-community edition. Groups, Profiles, Voice and
Offline Mesages all working. (Not yet Public, 6 users allowed Now).
