I have checked it though and am using a completely empty region. All is fine. I
tried to systematically add objects and all went fine until I added one
innocuous scripted object. Listens for command, checks who from and changes
colour/text. Deleted and rezzed item again. all fine after 4 goes. Reloaded
the oar of the old scene and now seems to be closing down fine.

Sorry this does not help much but at least the problem seems to have gone away
(for the moment).

Thanks everyone.
