They may be on the same machine, but you're moving it off into a different process. A network connector object I'd assume allows it to connect with the rest of the services via network rather than internally.

    It's possible but requires advanced configuration that is not
    documented (I haven't had time)... basically the Gatekeeper, the
    UserAgentsService and the LoginService need to talk to each other.
    If you are separating any of them, you need to use a network
    connector object instead of the service object.
