I’m having a frustrating problem: Wifi 0.7.5 can’t send email. People can create accounts, I can search for users, and I can activate them, but Wifi can’t send mail. I am using OpenSim 0.7.5 in Grid format with hypergrid enabled.
I’ve just converted my grid from from diva-r20232. Before Diva, I was using OpenSim 7.1.1.1 with Robust. Both times Wifi was working fine, so it’s frustrating that there is something here that I’m overlooking. There is one major difference between my current configuration and my previous configurations: I’ve now divided my grid into four OpenSim instances. Each one is an estate with its own OpenSim.ini (just a few lines) and its own Regions.ini. I don’t think this is causing the problem, but I’m mentioning it just in case I’m wrong. I’ve tried using two different email SMTP accounts and settings in Robust.HG.ini: smtp.gmail.com and my own ISP’s mail.sonic.net but nothing changes. I am currently using smtp.gmail.com because that's what's worked for me in the past. What am I overlooking? I have the feeling that it's one of those small, obvious things that I'll feel like an idiot for overlooking. The Wifi URL, in case it helps, is http://marin.us.com:8002/wifi . Here is the error message I get in my Robust window when Wifi tries to send email after a user requests a password reset: 07:55:33 - [Wifi]: ForgotPasswordGetRequest 07:55:40 - [Wifi]: [(user email address)] System.Net.Mail.SmtpException: Message could not be sent. ---> System.IO.IOException: The authentication or decryption has failed. ---> System.InvalidOperationException: SSL authentication error: RemoteCertificateNotAvailable, RemoteCertificateChainErrors at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.<callback>m__4 (System.Object sender, System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate certificate, System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Chain chain, SslPolicyErrors sslPolicyErrors) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.Security.SslStream+<BeginAuthenticateAsClient>c__AnonStorey7.<>m__A (System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate cert, System.Int32[] certErrors) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.SslClientStream.OnRemoteCertificateValidation (System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate certificate, System.Int32[] errors) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.SslStreamBase.RaiseRemoteCertificateValidation (System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate certificate, System.Int32[] errors) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.SslClientStream.RaiseServerCertificateValidation (System.Security.Cryptography.X509Certificates.X509Certificate certificate, System.Int32[] certificateErrors) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.Handshake.Client.TlsServerCertificate.validateCertificates (Mono.Security.X509.X509CertificateCollection certificates) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.Handshake.Client.TlsServerCertificate.ProcessAsTls1 () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.Handshake.HandshakeMessage.Process () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at (wrapper remoting-invoke-with-check) Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.Handshake.HandshakeMessage:Process () at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.ClientRecordProtocol.ProcessHandshakeMessage (Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.TlsStream handMsg) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.RecordProtocol.InternalReceiveRecordCallback (IAsyncResult asyncResult) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Mono.Security.Protocol.Tls.SslStreamBase.AsyncHandshakeCallback (IAsyncResult asyncResult) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send (System.Net.Mail.MailMessage message) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient+<SendAsync>c__AnonStorey5.<>m__5 (System.Object o, System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs ea) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0 R.O.B.U.S.T.# Thanks!
