I use Imprudence because it is fast on my old iMac (HD2600). By
"fast", i mean over 40 FPS. Recent viewers drop FPS to 10 or lower. I
know i miss meshes and shadows, but i need the fastest viewer to
build. A MacPro is on its way, but that's another story.
I expect grids to upgrade fast, so this will be soon a non-issue.
