Perhaps the script is "stuck" somewhere in execution? This can seem to
happen if conditions are right and the script utilizes llSleep()'s. Have
you tried completely resetting all the scripts in the object to see if
that helps? In some cases it may be necessary to recompile the scripts
or restart the server.
