As a college instructor, my vote is for a viewer that can be integrated into the Canvas learning management system (or LMS). Canvas is an open source LMS that easily enables the integration of LTI apps into the platform. For example, Zoom is an app that resides on my laptop but I can integrate it into each of my Canvas course sites (for easy student access to real time Zoom sessions). Note: To integrate Zoom into a Canvas course site, each class member (and me) need a Zoom account. Further, I need to "make the connection" to the Zoom LTI app in each course site in Canvas (but the enhanced usability of integration into a course site is worth the extra step).
Similar to the enhanced usability of Zoom in my courses (due to its integration into Canvas),* the ability to integrate an OpenSimulator viewer into Canvas would be a sea-change for the [expanded] education-related use of OpenSimulator. * Thank you in advance (and while I cannot recall whether I ever requested an opensimulator.org account, I just requested an account). -- Kay McLennan (Tulane University) _______________________________________________ Opensim-users mailing list Opensim-users@opensimulator.org http://opensimulator.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/opensim-users
