All,
I work at Novell and have noticed that a lot of recent changes to OpenSLP
within Novell have not made it to the main project hosted on Sourceforge.
Since I have the list of differences that seems to apply primarily to the
OpenSLP 1.2.0 build (though perhaps a slightly-modified version of 1.2.0...
need some help figuring out exactly which 1.2.0 tag/branch to compare
against) I'm curious how I can apply these back to the main project. A lot
of the changes help with large environments or improve SLP functionality
across restarts of the slpd process.
Along with this what is next for OpenSLP 2.0? Some of the code I've checked
is quite different from the 1.2.x code but is there a guide on what is
changing in the 2.0 version? Any good ways to port all of the code changes
from Novell for 1.2.0 to 2.0? Is 2.0 being pursued at all or should
progress just continue on the 1.x branch (I guess this goes back to knowing
the purpose of 2.0)?
For the next little while an RPM source file is located here:
ftp://ftp.novell.com/outgoing/openslp.spm
Checksum info:
d71d7ae8248a1183263fdab1f2a68685
openslp.spm
The diff files are there, and the build scripts seem to incorporate them
automatically.
Thanks.
