Thanks for the fresh eyes, Simon! I was too focused on the intriguing
EADDRNOTAVAIL failure to realize that it was supposed to fail and something
else was wrong. :)
The OS X fix has been added to the hg tip. And everything else seems to
pass my basic functional testing.
