Hi All-

Eager to get a fresh perspective on this, as every one of my
experiences as a developer with Open Social have been horrendous. Not
ready for public consumption, things breaking/changing without any
transparency, woefully inadequate toolset compared to the facebook
offering, poorly written fragmented documentation, no proper support
channels, over-reliance on client side programming/browsers. So i
wanted to get your feedback, folks in these groups who are using open
social: is it really as terrible as all this?

Until something drastically changes, or some server side REST based
APIs are released, I will stick with facebook and containers that
offer a similar platform. In my opinion, the purveyors of this drivel
should be ashamed at themselves for setting a high level of
expectations in order to float a stock price and sway popular opinion;
that this would be considered on par with a facebook application
development platform is laughable. Google gadgets are nothing new, and
nothing worth looking into.

Thanks much,
Double
