If you create a rest api, then you can consume it using makeRequest from within
the gadget.
Also you can authenticate those incoming requests using oauth

Subject: [OpenSocial] Making calls to my app / API from within an opensocial
 gadget / app

Hi all
I am making a web app on my website with php and would like to create
a version for inclusion in opensocial containers.
Any advice on how is best to go about it?

i was thinking make a RESTful web service / api of my application and
integrate this with the social functions of opensocial containers, can
i make calls to my
app from within opensocial? whats the best way to interact with my php
app? JSON? PHP client library?

if anyone can point me in the right direction id be grateful!

cheers
Mark
