Hi Sai, You can do both but to deploy an opensocial application (which used the OpenSocial API) you need a so called container. Apache Shindig can be used to roll your own, but you could also use an existing container like e.g. Orkut (or one of the many out there). A significant number of vendor supported applications will also allow you to deploy OpenSocial based applications
