According to wiki.opensocial.org, iGoogle is running opensocial 0.8, but
dont know for sure if they pushed some 0.9 features inside it - if not, it
shouldn´t work. See:

Orkut is running 0.8 with some 0.9 features and proxied content is working
with just one consideration. You should place a '/' in the end of the
request in order to make it work. You may try it on your gadget.
