You might want to check out the OpenSocial REST API: http://code.google.com/apis/opensocial/docs/dataapis.html Unfortunately, as the page notes, it's less mature than the JavaScript APIs and not as widely supported (yet), but it sounds like it's the kind of thing you'd need.
