I agree with you. But therein lies my problem. It's an _application_.
I need a library/engine that I can integrate into my own application.

Did you just plug it in and let it work as is or did you have to
modify it to integrate? How did you integrate with your DB? How did
you implement OAuth? Have you dealt with security or do you allow your
users to display any gadget they want?
