Yep, all application source is freely available. To see the source of
a particular application:

1. Load the application in orkut and copy the source of the IFrame
that hosts it. It should look something like
http://<ALPHANUMERIC_STRING>.sandbox.orkut.gmodules.com/gadgets/ifr?url=...&parent=...

2. The URL of the application is everything between ?url= and &parent.
It usually ends with .xml but doesn't have to. Copy this URL.

3. Paste the copied URL into the address bar and choose "Save Page
As..." in the File menu to download the source to your local machine.
Keep in mind that a lot of applications reference external JavaScript
files that may contain its complete logic, so you may have to download
a few other files as well depending on the app.
