A1: I'm not aware of any methods to encrypt the gadget source code. You could try some javascript minifier or obfuscation tools to "hide" your gadget logic to some extent. Have a look at http://www.javascriptobfuscator.com/ and http://www.crockford.com/javascript/jsmin.html. A2: Currently Orkut allows only gadgets with social features.
