This sounds like an issue that you might want to bring to the
OpenSocial specification group since it would likely require several
changes to the spec, namely requestCreateActivity.

That said, there's no reason why you can't include specialized links
in your updates today. Obviously, you can't include custom logic to
only display these to users with the application, but if your app
features a rich canvas view for guest viewers, you can link to the
owner's canvas view and pass in one or more arguments which your
application can parse to invoke certain actions when the view loads.
