Athira, Thank you for your response, and I wish that was the truth. However it seems that all "Orkut-only" users trying to login into sandbox will be automatically redirected to www.orkut.com instead of sandbox.orkut.com. I did proceed with your instructions using both (sandbox and non-sandbox) orkut accounts to verify this issue.
So far, the only method I know to be a "sandbox account" is by registration: http://sandbox.orkut.com/SandboxSignup.aspx, which seems to be broken. Please, let us know if you have further instructions.
