Tiago, thanks for the update I somehow expected that we already could take wider space on new canvas.
By change width do you mean something like gadgets.window.adjustWidth? this can cause a problem with floating elements (i.e. float:right, float:left, etc) designs. I think something like moduleprefs setting or adjustWidth with explicit width param would be better, IMHO.
