Thanks for pointing this out to us. In general, like you said, HttpClient4 uses connection pooling to handle resources better and is the recommended way to go (please compare HttpClient4 with URLConnectionClient). If it helps to use the latter to circumvent this problem (which we believe should be temporary as we have a bug on it), please feel free to use it for now.
