It's best to attract users to the app info page. That way they will be correctly redirected.
Remember that applications still have a guest mode, which happens when a user who does not have the app views it on someone else's profile (he can arrive there through the "via" link, for instance). That's what you get when you land in the canvas view of an app on someone else's profile and you don't have it installed. The recommended practice is that applications should have a guest mode in which the user can get a feel for the application without installing it. Applications must not redirect guest users from Canvas Page to the App Info page.
