Documentation is outdated. Orkut allows you to connect using 3legged oauth. There are some libraries available:
Java: http://code.google.com/p/orkut-os-client PHP http://code.google.com/p/orkut-os-client-php .NET http://code.google.com/p/orkut-oauth-api-csharp/ There are lots of information over there. Let us know if you have any doubt.
