Good news: I figured out that in Google Project Hosting, I needed to go to Source>Browse>svn>trunk/helloworld.xml and then use the "view raw file" in the File Info area located on the right side of the screen. Doing that gives me a URL which Orkut likes and now I can see my test gadget running in my apps!
