All, I am pleased to announce the opening of the OpenSolaris Ports Collection project on opensolaris.org.
The OpenSolaris Ports Collection project is dedicated to providing the OpenSolaris community with an easy to use method of obtaining and installing third party software. The project site can be found here: http://www.opensolaris.org/os/project/ports/. A discussion list has been setup as well: ports-discuss at opensolaris.org. In addition to the #opensolaris channel on FreeNode, the #opensolaris-ports channel is available. Currently we are wrapping up the requiments gathering phase - development should be beginning within the next couple of weeks. Participation is open to all!
