We've now reached Phase I of the X Consolidation gate migration project: a read only mercurial clone of the Nevada gate (minus the closed portions) is available on opensolaris.org.
It's initialized with the current state of the open-src portion of the Nevada gate as of yesterday's nv_127 code freeze. (Mercurial has the full history going back to the initial OpenSolaris code drop at nv_33, but that does not yet seem to be visible via the OpenGrok browser.) Instructions on browsing, cloning and building the gate are available at: http://hub.opensolaris.org/bin/view/Project+x-cons/ Syncing with the teamware gate is still done as a semi-manual process, but should happen more regularly than our previous project gates, since it will be a direct export, with no manual merge resolution required. Commit notifications will be sent to the x-cons-notify mailing list. Questions and discussion should be sent to the xwin-discuss mailing list. Unlike the fox-gate, which still has the layout of our original code drops, with everything under XW_NV, this matches the Nevada gate, where the XW_NV level is the implicit top level. Like the fox-gate and our future hg gate, the tarballs are not checked into the gate. Right now a full build will result in: Packages built: 52 Packages failed: 8 These packages are expected to fail due to bits we still build out of closed tree, and haven't yet either replaced with open bits or moved out of the open packages, but plan to clean that up in the next few builds: SUNW0xman SUNWxwcft SUNWxwfnt SUNWxwinc SUNWxwman SUNWxwoft SUNWxwopt SUNWxwplt -- -Alan Coopersmith- alan.coopersmith at sun.com Sun Microsystems, Inc. - X Window System Engineering
