Hi, Unser n?chstes MUCOSUG Treffen findet wie folgt statt: MUCOSUG Meeting: Performance vs. Algorithmus Mittwoch, den 25. Februar 2010, 19:00 Uhr - 23:00 Uhr Sun Microsystems, M?nchen http://de.sun.com/aboutsun/location/index.jsp?loc=de-munich Sonnenallee 1, 85551 Kirchheim-Heimstetten Nach einem kurzen Update zur Oracle und Sun Acquisition werden wir uns mit dem Thema "Performance vs. Algorithmus" besch?ftigen: Bertram Dorn wird einige Seiten der im Oracle Solaris verborgenen Algorithmen aufschlagen, und deren Performanceaspekte in Bezug auf die realen Anforderungen an Administratoren und Dienstebetreiber diskutieren (z.b. MEAT/MAAT). So steht die "Erfahrung" des Anwenders im Vordergrund, welche durchaus auf einzelne Komponenten innerhalb von Solaris zur?ckgef?hrt werden kann. Die auch teilweise recht einfachen Mess-M?glichkeiten mit Erkenntissen wie: "Liegt ein Problem vor?", oder "K?nnte bald ein Problem uns den Tag vermiesen?" sind daher Kern der Diskussion. Gezeigt werden auch einige einfache Tools und "Blickwinkel" um den Blick zu sch?rfen, und abschliessend auch ein paar Methoden um auch dem Umfeld des Administrators ggf. "Beweise" liefern zu k?nnen. We'll center around the "user experience", which can often be tracked to certain components inside Solaris. At the core of the discussion will be some (often simple) measurement techniques and their insights like: "Is there a problem?", or "Could a problem ruin our day soon?". Simple tools will be demonstrated as well as "angles of view", to sharpen the sight, and methods that enable the delivery of conclusive "proofs" to the administrator's surroundings.
