Let's check the Twisted 8.0 announcement, which explains a bit about the
version number change.

They seem to have a fairly light-hearted bunch, so I would imagine 2010
will not throw them (or the robotic overlords who enslave them) too much
of a curve.  If I were to guess, I'd bet they go to 10.0.
