Please don't try to ignore the valid architectural and security concerns which Darren and others have raised already. If this Areca backup util is to be integrated, then its crypto support should Do The Right Thing in OpenSolaris rather than merely assume that whatever is being done elsewhere is preferable. Oh, and has anybody informed the Areca project group that their name conflicts with that of a company (Areca Technologies Ltd of Taiwan) ? James C.
