I'm with Dale on this. Do we really want another local account required (or n such accounts) in a situation where there are no local accounts but root?
That being said, any decent supported linux distribution (read: RHEL or SuSE) don't do something so preposterous as to disable root access by default. This message posted from opensolaris.org
