The two are actually separate issues. I should have made that clearer. If there's a convenience function, then it'll still need a name and (as a tiny nit only) I think avoiding "_np" might be a good idea. Regardless of whether or not there's a convenience function to set this flag, I'm not sure that using an entire property group as though it were a boolean is the right thing to do in SCF.
