Can you give some specific brand/models of what you consider commodity and what are reasonable cache devices ? For example, I use San Disk Extreme III CF (20MB/s sequential r/w) and Ultra II CF (10MB/s seq r / 9 MB/s seq w) in my camera but wouldn't use a San Disk Standard CF. There is also now an Extreme IV (40MB/s seq r/w) and the Ducati Edition (45MB/s seq r/w) which are over kill for my camera needs (and budget!). -- Darren J Moffat
