This project delivers the libXinerama API, as originally developed by XFree86,
and included in X.Org's X11R6.7 and later releases, into Solaris, as part of
the SUNWxwplt package.
The upstream libXinerama includes two sets of API's - the original X11R6.4
API and the XFree86 API. The older API used function names beginning with
XPanoramiX*() [PanoramiX was the original proposed name for Xinerama.]
Since Solaris already included the older XPanoramiX* API in libXext, this
project only exports the new API symbols from libXinerama to avoid symbol
clashes. (libXinerama necessarily depends on libXext.)
The existing Solaris custom Xinerama API [PSARC 2000/036] is also left in
libXext, since it is not completely replaced by the new API.
The case materials include the man page for the functions introduced in this
API and the Xinerama.h header file.
